Meet the Team

Suraj (The Founder, CEO)

My name is Suraj Choudhary and I am the CEO of The Normies LLC. Since I was a boy I have always wanted to entertain and bring people joy because after all, laughter is the best medicine.

I graduated with a BA from the IU School of Informatics with a minor in the Kelly School of Business, focusing strictly in Video Production. I believe the medium of Video provides endless creative possibilities to better people’s lives when it comes to leisure, escape, relaxation and learning. Most importantly, I believe in the community aspect of YouTube and Video. I am very proud of the community we have cultivated through The Normies and continue to grow with today.

I will always have lofty aspirations to create my own films some day. What are we without our dreams, right? I’m very happy that my friends and I have developed an outlet in which we can flex our creative muscles.

I love films, games, music, and television. I love dancing, singing (when it’s drunk karaoke) and creating crazy memories with my friends! All time favorite show? If you know me then you know the answer!

I am a pretty empathetic person almost to a fault. I can relate to (and do impressions of) almost anybody. This is why my taste in music is very broad as I listen to whatever genre fits my mood. I can go from NWA to Of Monsters and Men; Odesza to Ariana Grande; Led Zeppelin to The Beatles, within the span of an hour.

I think my biggest pet peeve is when anyone says that a single person in our company does not work their asses off. Most people that aren’t well versed in the YouTube world have a very flimsy understanding of just how hard it is to balance running a YouTube channel with your life. Your income isn’t necessarily stable and job security is a big fat question mark at best.

All that being said, I enjoy the hell out of what I do! It’s not your typical 9-5’s but it is WORK, I assure you. I hope we have had a chance to better your life somehow, or allow you to live out moments of your past again through our eyes. Peace to you all!

Navi (Chief Financial Officer)

Hello everyone! My name is Navi and I’m caffeine dependent proud workaholic nerd. I’m a part-time Normie. Beside reacting for the Normies (whenever I’m in town), I’m also responsible for financials and accounting functions of the Normies as well as any processes and controls that goes around it. I have a separate full-time job outside of Normies, which keeps me out of town during weekdays and most weekends.

I like to keep myself busy. My goal is to read one book a month and keep learning constantly to improve. I love road trips and do not mind traveling by myself to make new memories. I am OCD about organization. One of my weirdest quirks is that I love making lists and will organize my thoughts by making list for everything. Two motto that I live my life by is that everything happens for a reason and there is always a better way to do something.

Nahid

I am Nahid, the brownest bass music loving patriot you will ever meet! I love my daily dose of video games, watching my favorite shows, going to various concerts and festivals. If you are ever at a festival, don’t be surprised if you run into Runa and me! I have been dating the amazing Miss Rana for the past 4 years. We have a kitty named Amira and she is friggin awesome!

When I was younger, I wanted to be a superhero. As I’ve gotten older my dream still presses on! During my youth I watched shows like DBZ, Spiderman, and Batman. Being on this channel has been such a blessing these past few years.  I have had the pleasure of being exposed to some of the greatest heroes I may have never met.

A little background on me: I have one younger brother, I was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh,  I moved to the US literally on my first birthday and have been here all my life. After highschool I became weekend warrior and joined the National Guard as 68P (Rad Tech). I graduated from IUPUI with a bachelors in Political Science.  I lived in Chicago for a bit during the beginnings of the channel but have now moved back to Indiana to be full time Normie! As a fulltime Normie, other than reacting, I handle the streaming, our editors, and the production of some of your favorite reactions series.

Marketa

Ahoj! My name is Marketa, the queen of the unidentifiable accent. I was born and raised in the Czech Republic, lived in Turkey for a year and when I was done with school, I tried my luck and moved to the USA. And here I am now, with the love of my life, Chris, and with this bunch of Normies!

Here are some fun Marketa stats:

  • Used to compete in swimming and dance in school
  • Used to be a very edgy, tomboyish teenager
  • Got her Master’s Degree in Education which, for most parts, is now useless for her job #SelfMadeMillenial
  • Worked odd jobs since she was 16. Cashier, hostess, caller, cleaner, nanny, secretary, sales, English and Turkish teacher to now being a full-time Normie – the list barely covers it.
  • Is your favorite stereotypical twitter user who spams your feed with news you don’t want to read. You’re welcome!

I love being creative in my own ways – symmetry, nifty ways of organizing space and minimalism give me odd satisfaction of living a simple life, which is all I am about after every hard and hectic day at work. I LOVE reading and writing. I enjoy the way language works and it is my life’s goal to master 5 languages – besides Czech and English and my mediocre Turkish, I want to learn Spanish and Arabic and potentially Russian. I love hiking, being out in nature, discovering new places and meeting new creatures of Earth.

Ironically enough, I have always been the true opposite of an avid TV watcher. The only show I really got crazy about was The Game of Thrones. However, with The Normies I was able to immerse myself in many different shows, miscellaneous genres and explore some bizarre universes of the most creative stories ever told, and I will always be thankful for this opportunity.

P.S.: Tenya Iida is best boy. @ me!

Rana

My name is Runa. I am an Arab American born and raised in the beautiful sunshine state of California. I am an only child, so having all these Normies in my life makes up for all the “sibling fun” I missed from my childhood. The Normies are friends that turned into my goofy family I get to spend everyday with. When I got older my parents decided to move us to Amman, Jordan where I had the privilege of attending high school. It was there where I became fluent in Arabic , my love for cooking developed, as well as my desire to learn more about my heritage. Plus, living in Jordan gave me the opportunity to visit nearby Arab countries, the continent of Europe & the country Turkey. After that it was back to California for college, next Indiana, a few fun years in Chicago… but my thirst for adventure in this ever changing world of ours and my desire to be creative and push the boundaries brought me back to Indianapolis to be with my normies. I like to shake things up every once in awhile with music festivals. It is such a great way to see other creative people and the way they reach people with their art. Bonus is meeting new people from all around the world and that includes fellow Normies. I will leave you with a quote I admire : “I would rather have my mind opened by wonder than closed by belief”

Chris

Hey! What’s up, it’s Chris, a.k.a. Newcents88. I live by the motto ‘Innovate or Die’! I think that it takes a constant cycle of changes to make sure the creative juices stay flowing and fresh. I am very grateful that I can share my creations with the world via the internet. I am elated that thanks to The Normies I get to be a part of an awesome online community! Everyday is a chance to make something new, meet someone new, or do something new and I am grateful for everyday!

Marketa

What up fellow Normies! My name is Patrick, but most of y’all know me as Brown Pat. Recently became a full-time Normie, as a Human Resources Manager (YEAH, that’s right). In all seriousness, my previous work experiences and education have prepared me to excel at this position. I am also responsible for business development here at the Normies. I am blessed to work with my best friends every day; it never feels like a workday!

Aside from being a Normie. I like to keep myself occupied by trying to live a healthy lifestyle. After work, you will usually find me at the gym or meal prepping. I’m always in a constant state of learning. I love watching videos or reading articles on various topics (I know more about sharks than I like to admit.) My personal anthem is to study the greats and aim to be better; and you are the sum average of the 5 people you surround yourself with.

Sydney (Editor)

Hi! My name is Sydney Inman. I am a post-production generalist passionate about visual storytelling. I have traveled all over the US working on various exciting projects, but decided to return to my home state, Indiana, this past May. A few of my favorite movies and TV shows include: A Clockwork Orange, The Grandbudapest Hotel, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Howl’s Moving Castle, Goodfellas, Rick and Morty, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, American Horror Story, One Punch Man, Space Dandy, Adventure Time, and Regular Show. My most prized possession is my cat, Shiro. She was an abandoned stray kitten that I adopted in 2016. I named Shiro after a character on Deadman Wonderland. She has traveled all over the place with me and does an amazing job going through airport security. I am very excited to be working for The Normies, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us!

Dustin (Editor)

Hello! My name is Dustin and I come all the way from Dallas, Texas, after moving to Indiana a year ago. My all-time favorites include Avatar: The Last Airbender, Harry Potter, and Parks and Rec. I am obsessed with roller coasters, and will literally watch any coaster POV video you put in front of me, and I love videos about old theme park rides that no longer exist. I am also a gaming nerd with hundreds, probably thousands, of hours sunk into Legend of Zelda and Fire Emblem. I am a lifelong Dallas Stars fan and I own five or six different Stars jerseys, with enough other gear to wear a different piece every day for a month!
